Community Services in Yucca Valley / Morongo Basin

Yucca Valley has a host of community services and non-profit agencies prepared to assist residents and their families. Use this page to locate non-profit support agencies located in Yucca Valley, and Town-sponsored youth activities, youth and adult sports programs and park and facilities.

Non-Profit Community Service Agencies

The following listings are provided for those in need of services, and for those who wish to donate time/funds to these agencies.

 
Basin Wide Foundation. The foundation reaches out to the Morongo Basin seeking active opportunities to strengthen non-profit organizations by helping them to achieve their goals. It continually strives to improve quality of life by addressing economic, health, cultural and environmental community concerns through partnerships with philanthropic individuals, community leaders and other organizations. Boys and Girls Club of the High Desert. For the past 20+ years the Boys & Girls Club has offered the youth of Yucca Valley many programs geared towards improvement and development. They offer sports programs, self-esteem and prevention programs, character development, leadership skills development, job skills, after-school programs, computer labs, arts & crafts and more. The Boys & Girls Club is in a partnership with the Town of Yucca Valley. They are located at 56525 Little League Drive and can be reached at (760) 365-5437.

 
Disabled American Veterans. The local chapter of the DAV supports local veterans with volunteer transportation for sick and disabled veterans to the VA Medical Center in Loma Linda. Nationwide, this organization assists veterans and their families with earned benefit support, claims, VA compensation, health care, pension, employment rights, education and more. Friends of the Yucca Valley Library. This agency is non-profit and staffed entirely by volunteers. Volunteers raise money to purchase library materials including computers, magazines, books, audio books, videos and CDs. To support informational, educational, cultural and literacy needs of our community they sponsor performers and activities for preschool story times, summer reading programs for students and adult programs. Morongo Basin Adult Health Services The MBAHS Senior Center and Pool is an umbrella organization administering a wide range of health-related therapeutic and social services through their Senior Health and Social Resources Center. The focus is on remediation/therapeutic services for older adults (55+). The Center is located at 57121 Sunnyslope Dr in Yucca Valley and the phone number is (760) 365-9661.

Morongo Basin Mental Health Association. The MBMH supports Yucca Valley with mental health services and also offers counseling and addiction support for alcohol and substance abuse. The three departments of the Association are the Morongo Basin Counseling and Recovery Center which is an outpatient service for adult mental health problems, the Child Guidance Clinic which offers the same services for children under 18 and the Panorama Ranch which has outpatient and residential programs for those fighting substance abuse. Reach Out Morongo Basin. Reach Out Morongo Basin matches volunteers with seniors and disabled neighbors to visit, shop, help with minor home repairs, yard maintenance, personal business and referrals. Reach Out's vans transport neighbors to doctors' appointments throughout the basin as well as down the hill. Volunteers are welcome as well as self-referrals from those in need. The Salvation Army. This organization is a religious and social service branch of the Christian Church and is dedicated to the battle against sin and despair. From their Yucca Valley office located at 56659 Twentynine Palms Highway Suite E they offer utilities assistance and food programs for 75-100 local families each month. Yucca Valley Rotary Club. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. Locally they sponsor great programs such as Shoes that Fit, Boy's State, Miss Yucca Valley Pageant and our annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration. You can write to the Club at P.O. Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club. The Sunset Rotary Club is a member of Rotary International, one of the world's largest service organizations. The Club raises tens of thousands of dollars each year for many of the Desert's charitable causes including Morongo Basin Hospice, Joshua Tree Tortoise Rescue, Morongo Basin Adult Health Services, Panorama Ranch, The Desert Aids Project, Theater 29, Landers Elementary After School Programs and many, many others. Yucca Valley Youth Activity Programs

The Town of Yucca Valley has an exceptional Community Services program and offers numerous "things to do" for our community. You can register for many of these programs by visiting the Town of Yucca Valley website at www.yucca-valley.org.

Yucca Valley Sports Programs

Yucca Valley Parks & Facilities

  • Yucca Valley Community Center. The Community Center is the location of the Hi-Desert Nature Museum, Senior Center, Town Hall, Library and sports facilities which include softball, soccer, basketball, sand volleyball, playground equipment and a picnic area. The center is located at Dumosa and the Twentynine Palms Highway.

  • BMX Track. This facility is located near the corner of Sage and Sunnyslope, just north of the wash behind the Yucca Valley Community Center.

  • Boys & Girls Club. The Boys & Girls Club is in a partnership with the Town of Yucca Valley. The Club is open Monday - Friday 2:00 pm through 6:00 pm. This is also the home of the Yucca Valley Boxing Club and the Brehm Youth Sports Park. Located at 56525 Little League Drive.

  • Hi-Desert Park. The recently renovated park includes three tee-ball fields, picnic area, two lighted tennis courts, new basketball court and playground equipment. Located at 55680 Onaga Trail.

  • Machris Park. This beautiful 12-acre park in the Sky Harbor area of Yucca Valley features a lighted softball/baseball field, community building, playground, restrooms, basketball court and covered picnic area. Located at 59100 Santa Barbara Drive.

  • North Park. An 80-acre natural area with a trail and a picnic site, located on Fairway Drive in the Old Town district of Yucca Valley.

  • Paradise Valley Park. The home of the Paradise Neighborhood Center which hosts many activities including a pool table, air hockey, ping-pong, video games and more. The recently renovated park has playground equipment, half-court basketball, sand volleyball, tee-ball field and a picnic area. Is located at 58938 Barron Drive.

  • "Pop" Rauch Memorial Park. Owned and operated by Tri-Valley Little League, this park includes four ball fields (two being lighted) and complementary facilities. It is located at 56625 Little League Drive.

  • Remembrance Park. Formerly Triangle Park, this passive park is located in the heart of Yucca Valley and is a unique example of beautiful desert landscaping. Located on the Twentynine Palms Highway near Pioneertown Road this park is also the home of the famous Saber Tooth Tiger statue.

  • Skate Park. The Skate Park is located on the north side of the Community Center complex next to the basketball courts. All skateboarders and in-line skaters are welcome to enjoy this facility from dawn to dusk.

  • South Park. Another 80-acre natural park with a hiking trail that allows visitors to enjoy a magnificent view of Yucca Valley and the surrounding mountains. Located near Joshua Tree National Park at Black Rock Canyon Campground.
