American Cancer Society is the nationwide community based volunteer health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service. Andromeda Society of the Morongo Basin is composed of amateur astronomers who meet regularly to enjoy the desert night sky and learn about its wonders. Meetings, which are open to the public at no charge, are held in the Yucca Valley Community Center on the third Friday of the month, except during the summer.
Free ‘star parties’ are co-sponsored by The Andromeda Society and the Park Rangers. These often take place at twilight on Saturdays after the new moon at Hidden Valley Nature Trail in the JT National Park. Visitors can enjoy telescope viewing and tours of the night sky by members.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in astronomy and includes monthly notices and reduced rates for astronomy magazines. No equipment is necessary.

Basin Wide Foundation. The foundation reaches out to the Morongo Basin seeking active opportunities to strengthen non-profit organizations by helping them to achieve their goals. It continually strives to improve quality of life by addressing economic, health, cultural and environmental community concerns through partnerships with philanthropic individuals, community leaders and other organizations. Boys and Girls Club of the High Desert. For the past 20+ years the Boys & Girls Club has offered the youth of Yucca Valley many programs geared towards improvement and development. They offer sports programs, self-esteem and prevention programs, character development, leadership skills development, job skills, after-school programs, computer labs, arts & crafts and more. Disabled American Veterans. The local chapter of the DAV supports local veterans with volunteer transportation for sick and disabled veterans to the VA Medical Center in Loma Linda. Nationwide, this organization assists veterans and their families with earned benefit support, claims, VA compensation, health care, pension, employment rights, education and more. Friends of the Yucca Valley Library. This agency is non-profit and staffed entirely by volunteers. Volunteers raise money to purchase library materials including computers, magazines, books, audio books, videos and CDs. To support informational, educational, cultural and literacy needs of our community they sponsor performers and activities for preschool story times, summer reading programs for students and adult programs. Hearts of Yucca Valley was established over 35 years ago as a non-profit organization dedicated to holdong fundraising events to support local heart-related programs. Recent recipients are the Yucca Valley Fire/Paramedic Program, Morongo Adult Health Services and the Cardiac Care Unit at the Hi-Desert medical Center. Meeting are held at 11:00 a.m. on the first Thursday of the month. We are a fun, friendly, dedicated group of ladies!

Morongo Basin Adult Health Services The MBAHS Senior Center and Pool is an umbrella organization administering a wide range of health-related therapeutic and social services through their Senior Health and Social Resources Center. The focus is on remediation/therapeutic services for older adults (55+). The Center is located at 57121 Sunnyslope Dr in Yucca Valley and the phone number is (760) 365-9661.

Morongo Basin Mental Health Association. The MBMH supports Yucca Valley with mental health services and also offers counseling and addiction support for alcohol and substance abuse. The three departments of the Association are the Morongo Basin Counseling and Recovery Center which is an outpatient service for adult mental health problems, the Child Guidance Clinic which offers the same services for children under 18 and the Panorama Ranch which has outpatient and residential programs for those fighting substance abuse. Reach Out Morongo Basin. Reach Out Morongo Basin matches volunteers with seniors and disabled neighbors to visit, shop, help with minor home repairs, yard maintenance, personal business and referrals. Reach Out's vans transport neighbors to doctors' appointments throughout the basin as well as down the hill. Volunteers are welcome as well as self-referrals from those in need. The Salvation Army. This organization is a religious and social service branch of the Christian Church and is dedicated to the battle against sin and despair. Yucca Valley Rotary Club. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club. The Sunset Rotary Club is a member of Rotary International, one of the world's largest service organizations.
