Public Transportation

MBTA, Park-n-Ride, and NG Refueling Station

The Morongo Basin Transit Authority provides relaxing, convenient public transportation for residents and visitors. Services include neighborhood shuttles and a frequent highway route. MBTA offers a door-to-door bus service that is especially popular with elderly and disabled citizens.  They also make daily runs to Palm Springs, connecting with the Palm Springs Airport, SunLine Transit Agency Buses, and the Greyhound bus station. Let the friendly drivers of the Morongo Basin Transit Authority take you where you want to go, while you enjoy the beautiful desert views.

Another great idea that has come to Yucca Valley is our Park-n-Ride, located near the west end of Yucca Valley, on the northeast corner of State Route 62 and Kickapoo Trail. Carpoolers heading to the “Low Desert” can safely leave their cars in one of the 137 lighted parking spaces and save some gas money.  Also known as the Yucca Valley Regional Transportation Center, Park-n-Ride is on the regular route of Citizens On Patrol.

A unique feature of Yucca Valley’s Park-n-Ride facility is our Compressed Natural Gas Refueling Station, the first such public facility in the High Desert.  The Station offers fuel for Waste Management trash collection vehicles, and makes ‘fast fueling’ available for all CNG equipped vehicles.  Convenience and economy combine to make our MBTA, Park-n-Ride, and Refueling Station smart ways to handle transportation. Yucca Valley Airport

In the center of town, Yucca Valley Airport is a combination business and residential facility. It offers both permanent and transient outdoor aircraft parking. Many of the 50 hangars belong to Yucca Valley residents.

The runway is 4300 feet in length at an altitude of 3220 feet.  There are two aircraft maintenance operations on the field.  Flying weather in Yucca Valley is VFR (Visual Flight Rules) for more than 350 days a year, which makes Yucca Valley Airport an excellent destination.
