President’s Message

Mike “Grumpy” Kelliher

President

With the Census process beginning, it is important that we stand up and be counted. The Census helps our businesses and our local government receives Federal dollars to build our community.

In this world of identity theft, how do we know the real census worker from the con-artist? The Census worker will have a badge, a hand held device, a Census Bureau canvas bag and a confidentiality notice. Always ask to see their ID. Never, ever give social security numbers, credit card or banking information. All they need to know is how many people live at your address. Census workers will only contact you two ways; in person or on the phone. They will never contact you through email. Safeguard your personal information against identity theft.

Sands to Snow National Monument Update

The Chamber and the Town of Yucca Valley have partnered to protect the growth of Yucca Valley. Your Chamber along with the Town through meeting with Senator Feinstein’s Staff and the National Parks Conservation Association have preserved the growth of Highway 62 along with future power needs for many years to come.

Save the date April 9, 2010 for the Chamber Challenge Golf Tournament at Woodhaven Country Club.

Until next month God Bless,

Grumpy
